Other Digi Packs

This is The Kooks' most famous album with three very popular singles. This means that the digipak had to make a good initial and lasting impression. It is pretty abstract design on the whole. The front and back covers less so, which is just greyscale pictures of the band playing with instruments. But when you open up the case, you find another picture of the band on the left, with a red banner through them and on the left is a bright red CD with bold, capitalised letters on them, the artist and album title separated by font colour. The inside back cover is a slideshow of different situations. This is for comedy value mostly, and is appealing to the eye, so the person looking will be interested to see what is in each box, and how the story develops. This is ideally the sort of cover I would be happy with as my final design, a few band/artist photos, with some editing and abstractness on the side.

The common conventions of a digipak, similar to an album, will include
  • Artist/band name, on the front cover and spine
  • Photography or graphic imagery, of the band or design - visually attract their audience.
  • Recurring theme of colours and imagery throughout the digipak.
  • Track listing on the back panel.
  • Disc in tray, or a slot between panels.
  • Barcode and logos on the back cover.
  • Possibly a 'Special Edition' sticker.

Magazine Advert

Bellow is a image of our magazine advert. The image shows a picture of the artist smashing a guitar against a piano. We took pictures whilst filming in order to create this. From looking at other magazine adverts we noticed the different logo's involved and so we made ours as realistic as possible. However, the ad had to be relevent to the artist. Therefore, it had to have a indie/rock image towards the viewer so they knew what sort of music the artist produced. Costume and location was also important. We used the green shirt and the bobble hat to get a young indie look as this was stereotypical towards the artist. Included on the ad is when it is going to be released, reviews from other companies, the artists website details and finally the correct font to make it again realistic and apropiate for the genre of artist.

Props and Costumes

In order to create a good music video as a group we needed to makesure the apperance of the artist was realistic. Therefore, bellow are some props and costumes that we used in the Video. From our reasearch into the artist we found that he was a indie, rock type artist anbd therefore, a kahki green shirt seemed to be suitable. In the video it was buttoned all the way to the top because in Jack Penate's music video this was his apperance. The grey bobble hat then just added a further indie/rock vibe to the performer. An acoustic guitar was also used in the video this also backs the apperance of the artist to make it as realistic as possible. Bellow is some poictures to show the costumes and props.
